Prior to co-founding Numark Laboratories and then DSE Healthcare Solutions, Moaiz worked in product management at the Arm & Hammer Company, International Playtex and Johnson & John Baby Products Company where he was Director of New Products.
In 1983, Moaiz left Johnson & Johnson to become President of Essex Manufacturing Corporation, a contract manufacturing business that he and other investors acquired. At Essex, Mr. Daya was involved in a turnaround situation which was accomplished through successful productivity increases, the development of new patented technology, and an asset sale. In 1989 after selling Essex Manufacturing Corporation, Moaiz joined Numark Laboratories. In 2005, Moaiz bought 4 of the Numark brands and launched DSE Healthcare Solutions.
Civil Society Engagement:
Moaiz has a long record of voluntary service in Leadership Positions to Community Institutions as well as with the Aga Khan Development Network, with extensive presence and contributions in Africa and South and Central Asia. His service includes President, The Aga Khan Council for Eastern USA; Chairman, The Aga Khan Grants & Review Board for USA; Chairman, Focus Humanitarian Assistance; Trustee, Landmark College in Putney, Vermont; USA convener for the Aga Khan University.
Moaiz currently leads the advisory Committee on Resource Mobilization for the Aga Khan Academies currently operating in Mombasa, Kenya; Maputo, Mozambique; Hyderabad, India.
Moaiz went to school in Tanzania and Kenya and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics (with Honors) at the University College in Daressalaam, Tanzania in 1968, and his MBA at Columbia University in 1972.
